2′ Principal (1-12 stopped)

Opus 1 is a handsome and compact continuo organ of 4 stops, housed in a black walnut and sugar maple case. The keyboard naturals are covered in rosewood and the sharps in maple. The 8′ and 4′ are of walnut and red oak, and the 2′ and 1 1/3′ are of a 40% tin alloy, all pipes having been made and voiced by Joel VanderZee. The metal pipes have tuning sleeves to allow for ease of re-pitching and flexibility in what temperament is used.

The base of the instrument contains the blower and pressure regulator; the top contains the windchest, pipes, and action. The top simply lifts off from the base for ease of relocation. The instrument can easily be moved by two able-bodied people.
