Big Changes at VanderZee Organs, Inc.

Dear clients, friends and colleagues,

I have recently made the decision to leave the world of organ tuning and maintenance here in southern Ontario for a new opportunity to work for a company I regard as one of the premier organbuilding firms in North America.

For a number of years I have attempted to service organs in a very wide geographical area, maintain a complete organbuilding facility, hire and pay competent employees, and keep my prices fair. It has been a difficult task juggling these priorities, but is has also had many rewarding moments. Ultimately, though, my passion lies in working on new, mechanical-action organs. That is why when Taylor and Boody Organbuilders of Staunton, VA, USA contacted me with an interest in bringing me onto their team, I was eager to hear more. After a couple visits, and much dialogue, I recently formally accepted their offer. I will officially begin in January of 2019.

I know many will be concerned about the succession of quality organ maintenance work in my place. I have been working with Derek Verveer, a young organ technician from the Ingersoll area, to help manage this transition. Beginning October 1stof this year, I am recommending his company to take on the care all organs whose maintenance I currently oversee. In addition to his experience with pipe organs, Derek is also very knowledgeable in the area of electronic organs and electronic control systems for pipe organs. He has arranged to employ several experienced local organ technicians to assist him in taking on this new client base. Derek will have access to all of my service records, and I will make myself available to him for consultation regarding any of the instruments I have serviced, repaired, or rebuilt. I have every confidence that Derek will be able to provide first-rate service at competitive prices.

Beginning October 1stof this year, all tuning and service inquiries should be directed to:
